David Hartmann, author of Principles and Practical Application of Acupuncture Point Combinations published by Singing Dragon and Acupoint Dictionary 2e published by Elsevier Churchill Livingstone, is an experienced acupuncturist, educator, and clinician based in Australia, practicing since 1997. In addition to maintaining a busy clinical practice, Hartmann is a respected educator who has trained acupuncturists throughout the world. At Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS) he served as Head of the Chinese Medicine department for ten years and he taught every Chinese medicine subject. He has designed courses and curriculum in acupuncture related subjects for several colleges. His teaching combines classical acupuncture principles with contemporary clinical insight, offering practitioners clear protocols, case studies, and hands-on techniques. David holds a Diploma of Applied Sciences (Acupuncture) from the Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) 1993-1996 and a Masters of Acupuncture from Southern Cross University (SCU) in 2009. David has three daughters and a chocolate Labrador named Lulu.
