Michael Berletich

Dr. Michael Berletich has been in private practice for over 20 years and served as a faculty member for decades at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon, teaching graduate-level Chinese medicine. In addition to being a Professor there, he worked as a Clinical Supervisor, Department Chair of Chinese medicine, and Dean of Faculty. Dr. Bertelich is particularly interested in classical theory, philosophy, and cosmology, and how these areas can improve our results as clinicians and successfully treat chronic, difficult, and recalcitrant diseases. He specializes in Internal medicine as a clinician in private practice. He feels equally at ease using Acupuncture, Herbal medicine, Qigong (LingQi/Reiki healing), Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral therapy, and nutrition counseling. In both his teaching and clinical work, Bertelich seeks to honor his mentors who have taught and inspired him from across the globe, including China, Europe, New Zealand, and across the United States, including in particular, his Native American teachers, whom he states “taught him how to be a human being”. He feels the wisdom of his teachers, the inherent wisdom of Nature, and the wisdom of the classical texts is an unending source of inspiration and a bedrock foundation that helps all people to live a better life. Outside of medicine and teaching, Michael enjoys writing songs and playing music, learning, traveling, nature, and being in his garden with the bees, his partner Ewa, and their cat Doozy.
