Barbara de la Torre is a board-certified family medicine practitioner and medical acupuncturist with over 20 years of experience in the field, who runs a private practice on an entirely integrated model. She is a second-generation integrative medicine practitioner with a foot in both Eastern and Western medicine for decades: her mother was a physician in family medicine and a Chinese medicine trailblazer who became the first woman president of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA). Barbara currently serves on the board of the AAMA, a medical organization dedicated to integrating medicine and acupuncture. She served six years on the Acupuncture Advisory Committee for the Oregon Medical Board and is a consultant for legal acupuncture cases.
